Leawood Lightning Swim Team
Learn to swim in a semi-competitive league!
We are a neighborhood pool swim team that practices twice a week and is focused on introducing children to the sport of swimming while having fun.
We compete with other neighborhood pools in the Little Rock Area.
Practice
Tuesday and Thursday at 8:00 pm.
FIRST PRACTICE for Ages 7-14 ONLY will be Tuesday, May 26th, 2026 at 8 pm.
FIRST PRACTICE for Ages 6 & under will be Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026 at 8 pm.
Children 6 & under practice for about 30-45 minutes, while children 7-14 practice for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Your child will learn the basic swimming strokes and work on endurance and race competition.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Although we do teach all swimmers how to swim all four strokes, this is not swim lessons. If any age swimmer does not know how to swim, we recommend private swim lessons scheduled with one of our swim instructors.
Swimmers 7-14 must know one stroke and be able to swim half the distance of the pool. If they cannot swim half the distance, please contact Coach Schell before signing them up for the swim team.
Information
Swimmers must be 14 years of age or younger by June 1st. Birthdates will be required in compliance with the league.
Practice is 2x per week, Tuesday evenings from 8-8:30 pm for 6 & Under, 8-9 pm for 7-14
Swim Meets are on TUESDAYS beginning at 6pm for warmup and 6:30 pm swim meet. Coaches will provide the meet schedule at the first swim practice.
Cost
Members of the Leawood Pool - $75 for the first two children and $15 for each child after that in the family. (Example: If you have 4 children, the cost would be $105)
Non-Members - $90 for the first two children and $20/for each additional child in a family. (Example: 4 children would be $130)
